Manchester Carers Helped by New Free Course

In this time of cutbacks and general job losses its good to hear that some out there are still trying to make sure that those who are struggling with everyday life are being supported. Still in its infancy, the 'Get Connected Course' for full time carers aims to give carers the skills and knowledge they need to manage their personal budgets, making their lives a little easier. Before all the cut backs most of this work would have been done by a 'Broker' but as with most things at the moment these are seen as non essential.

Even thought he government itself recognises that carers save it over £119 BILLION a year ('The Guardian, 12 May 2011) this doesn't seem to be enough to stop the cut backs. How this can possibly be justified is something that mystyfies me, and I'm sure that most carers out there are feeling completely dumped on by a government that likes to use them as campaign material but then sacks them when they think no one is looking.
