Anthony McCall is one of my favorite artists mainly because of his earlier experimental works. The one piece that I'll never forget is 'Line Describing a Cone' (below). Its such a simple idea by todays standards, but back in 1973 it took a whole lot of thinking about. The effect though is breath taking, especially if you get to experience it as I did a few years ago at the Serpentine in London.
Now though, he has been commissioned to build a work by the Olympic Committee called 'Column' thats supposed to be based in the Wirral, JUST UP THE ROAD!!! But where is it? So far all I can find are pictures on the internet..... ie.

but so far nothing.......... Many sad faces are being pulled about this!!
