Furniture catalogues leading the way in fooling us with CG imagery

I cant believe we've not all worked this out before but the furniture companies are using CG in all their catalogues. They been doing it for ages now which is why all those bookcases and chairs look so perfect but when we get them home and put them together they look terrible! We're being tricked... again... but I kinda like it. Why bother taking tons of photographs and having to take ages setting it all up and lighting it, when you can use models that were used to design the stuff in the first place and actually save a load of time.

Of all the companies doing this IKEA has been leading the way since 2005 and now over 75% of their catalogue is CGI. I don't know why but heres some pictures........
