The new course at Manchester Carers Forum is now under way, run by Nat and Tommy! The 'Get Connected' course aims to give carers the skills and confidence to build their own support plans, find funding and then manage their own budgets. This is tied together with practical computer skills that help make all of this so much more simple.
Over the past few weeks we have inducted over 40 people and are now about half way through the course. We have covered basic computer skills through to this week, we started planning, research and building support plans and also Microsoft Office. So far the feedback from carers has been amazing and we are also offering all this online during each of the sessions.
Both Nat and myself are buzzing at the amount of positive feedback that we have got so far and can't believe the amount of interest this has generated!
